1971 Tomakin Rivermouth, then called Sunpatch, 400m of 4' perfection.
works best on a big NE or E swell and off shore wind.

The wave enters a small bay and kicks off on the sand bank formed by the Rivermouth entering the bay.
It then stands up as it runs down the bay and seems to get bigger as it goes.
there was a light off-shore breeze and only a handful of guys out.
If you like you can kick off on the beach and run back around the beach to the river.and paddle out the river to the peak.

Have surfed it many times since but never had the same classic combination of swell direction, wind, lack of crowd and youthful energy and stoke.

Cheers.
ET.

Hard to have one....I have two, both very recent.
First one was last week on a chest high wave, pure glass on a perfect bank. Was the longest and cleanest nose ride I have had. No stumbling on the cross step, both feet over the nose, and it just kept going down the line. When the wave was coming to the end I just turned my head and was watching the tail drag through the wave,I was also checking if anyone had seen it lol

Second was when I had my big girl in waves I should have surfed a shorty. Well overhead perfection. Got in early, popped up and set a line, knees were bent while I dragged my hand in the wave face through the bottom turn and was taking the high line. Was no chance to turn or cutback. I just raced this wave with a few slight arcs....the day I fully understood why people bang on about trimming. It was amazing

I'm still pretty new to longboarding, so havn't surfed heaps of different waves on one. I guess the best has been Yallingup & another place near there. Had a lot of great surfs on a shortboard. Best wave ever was the spring of 1996, a small head height day at Johanna's beach Victoria. 2 friends & I had a bank to ourselves that was spitting out long barrels on every wave
