So do they really go that good on the sand?

Yes amazing in the sand. You need to get the bikes that can run the 4.5-5" big tyres, so 190/197mm rear spacing.
Set up tubeless I often go down to 2-3 psi. In that photo, a 12 km stretch of sand, so 24km round trip. Sand conditions do change, so can't always get all the way. In winter we ride some big dunes, when the sand is holding some moisture
but you need a battery when your over 60
