Nice boards boys.

Do you feel the difference between carbon and a normal board? And what differences?

I bought the DVS from the Boardroom at Miami a few weeks ago.
It belonged to John Charlton (who does the surf reports). I spied it in amongst all the beaten up second handies of which they have a lot.
It was all of $350.
I couldn't leave it there to be bought by some backpacker who would have no inkling of its pedigree and proceed to thrash it, leave it outside in the sun and ding the crap out of it only to be ridden poo stancing it through the whitewater.
Haven't ridden it as yet. Kind of waiting for a really good beachbreak day to take it for a spin.
It's really refined and so won't float me quite like I prefer but I'm sure it will go well.
It's an early carbon/eps board and the newer ones don't look quite so industrial like this one with the matte finish on the carbon. The new ones look like Cobra's Aviso with the gloss coat.
I've had a few eps/full carbon boards from Dick and they are worth the extra $'s.
I had a DVS 8' allrounder in poly they I really liked.
So I ordered a full carbon 8' all rounder from him.
Right from the first surf I knew it was great. Paddled better and much more responsive even though it wasn't that much lighter.
I never rode the poly 8'er again and eventually sold it with a free layer of thick dust upon it.
