I think Schapelle (sorry can't spell made up names) should release a line of body board bags models could include:

- skunk
- northern lights
- Maui waui
- New Guinea Gold
- Mullumbimby Madness

They would sell like Chubba Chups at a doof party!

Saw a few people recently over in Bali having bad days, quite a few motor bike crashes , mostly travellers with one, a couple of scantily clad chicks hit some loose dirt on one of those tight corners in between Padang and Ulu's, plenty of skin removed, both ok impart from that, still makes me wince thinking about it... Ouch and tears especially considering the trip to hospital they would have had,,,
On that, cant believe how dangerous it is, hardly the right environment to learn how to ride a scooter...

Just had a surf with a bloke who just got back on Monday from 10 days at Ulu's - lucky prick! They got good waves everyday with a couple of decent size swells, no broken boards and some loving. Sounds like a great trip

Spot on Tux I ride a scooter only locally,no sunset road trips for me,having said that they are a great way to explore some beach tracks that the bemo's drive past.

+1 I had a fall when I was there a few years ago. Right leg torn up and missed out on two days of surfing

Im thinking next time I will just stay at Ulu and walk to the breaks.

I was amazed at the rate of change in Bali over the last few years, havent been down to Ulu's area for 3 years or so, big changes around the warungs on top of the hill, not to mention around Padang and the indeed the whole Peninsula.

Mind you its not all bad, as I found the quality of cafe's really good with some very tasty organic food stores, Buddha Belly and Lands end worthy of checking out or even some of the smaller warungs where you can still get a Nasi Goreng for $1.00.

I was blown away by the Single fin venue on a Sunday night, pretty full on, as was my insatiable appetite for copius quantities of Bintang....Hot weather you need to rehydrate...

Interesting to read that some 4000 Chinese Tourists fly into Bali every week, now the dominant part of the tourist market so developement is going nuts to cater for them which means the roads are more often than not, gridlocked...and when I went it was a "quiet " out of season time. The lack of provision of infrastructure not only including the roads but waste management is the the biggest problem they face and the water quality is bloody awful, a real shame as it has been such a great place over the last few decades to go to, a victim of its own popularity.

To surf in the once very special places like Pedang and Ulus with lots of plastic bags floating by is a such a shame, you just have to go further afleld nowadays... a fun place non the less... haha what a rave...

Those Chinese peeps flocking in to get married at the Blue Point chapel overlooking Ulu's have scored us free upgrades the last 3 times we've stayed there...we had the honeymoon suite overlooking racetracks last time we were there

What do you mean signs up for the dog,as in missing in action

I was thinking this the other day that some would not be too happy with him around that area.
I watched part 2 and 3 last night, boy do some of those give us a bad name.

a lot of expats are a bit cranky about the show and that bloke in particular. Not looking promising for old mate to get his wingman back.

I couldn't imagine watching the show on tv with ads...I skip through most of it thinking, nup not interested & end up watching it in under 10 mins. Highlights of the 3rd episode was the guy who was too wasted to accept hospital care for his hanging by a thread finger & the bimbo bieba tat. The rest was crap.

I'd rather listen to that farkwit trying to dip his whick 3 times a night. Must be the worst slam bam sex a chicks ever had, good sex should last up to a couple of hours & leave you too hammered for sex till the morning glory I reckon.....but then again, I'm not 25 lol...I did fark a new girlfriend 7 times when we first met 18years ago & that was after a arvo/night of drinking at a music fest where I met her...& a bit of a pussy drought
