Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM - approx. cost 10k....or 6k second hand - I do not have an issue owning second hand lenses - all my lenses are second hand!!!

OK I dont want anything for xmas,the wife the same.We pick up things during the year.oh a 10 foot board would be nice but I've got no chance,maybe Feb BD present hmmm

That lens looks like the one my miss us is after Ted . The salesman reckons they are good enough to get close ups of whales 200 meters off shore .

Got my x-mas present last week , a shack on the beach on the west coast , trying to name it .
I thought the Love shack sounded good , the kids have voted for the magic mystery machine ( shaggys van from Scooby doo ) .

yeah they are Tassie - stick a 2 * converter on them and when you zoom in the quality is so good you feel like a real paparazzi. You can effectively take a good shot from about 1km away of not a bit more.

Congrats on the new shack - time you posted some pics !! Where about over West is it?

The salesman reckons you can look the whale in the eye from the beach through those lenses , very appealing to the wife who is a bit of a whale addict .

Shacks up on the northwest coast Ted just over an hour away . Supposed to be some surf there on Sunday so fingers crossed , haven't been in the water here for over a week starting to get the jitters
Hopefully will have some pics to post when I return . There is a nice little reef break very close by .
Bit of a secret spot though Down a little bush track through some private property .
