A funny thing happened today which I'll share with you mob

As some may know I was a loyal Dukes Longboard customer for years,knew both owner father and son for 10 years,purchased too many boards to recall.

Anyway I would roll up with young mac for many a year,he would go to the shortboard store next door to Dukes with only a driveway separating the two with a block of flats out the back which the owner of Dukes lived,if street parking was an issue I would/could park in the driveway with permission.

Today I parked on the street blocking the driveway,Dukes closed two years ago,I noted the ex owners sons car parked in the drive,no worries he will know where to find me as he knows my car well.I go into the shortboard store 10 mins later one of the guy's said anyone in here parked in the drive,yep that's me I replied.He said the guy who lives there waxed every window and panel of a car last week for parking there last week.

Oh ok I'll move,the son of ex owner was out the front on his pushie looking uptight,I said hey B-- how ya doing,he said what the **** are you parking there for and let rip with the biggest rant I've ever heard and I've heard a few.I said hey B-- its me M----,he I don't give ****,**** off,I said hey chill B-- I'm moving it now relax and he rips off another rant,I said what happened to the cool chilled B-- he said your not a customer anymore so **** off,by this time a crew had gathered,I said get off the drugs and **** your after sales service.

What a ****wit.

Anyway picked up a new custom from Stu for young mac,I have not been in there for two years and still received a super trade great service from the guy's. Dropped into Board Culture.Mark had ordered me a 10 foot board bag for the cruiser and a leggie,good coffee good service by both stores,so not all was lost.

I checked out the Burleigh Single fin comp ( shortboard ) event chatted to Scotty's mate DWer and watched his heat,he locked in this unreal barrel before getting bitch slapped at the end,watched young mac's mate win his heat with a three barrel wave and the next wave he lands a air reverse all these boards must be pre 84.Awesome.

Jeepers Mac - that bloke sounds like a right royal pork chop. Sounds like he needs a bit of a wake up call..........I am not into violence but sometimes a good punch can do wonders Seriously though not sure how you deal with that one.....I am non-confrontational so would probably just walk away and leave it and be annoyed at myself for not saying this or that at the time....Maybe you should tell his old man and then maybe there is some sort of hope for him further down the line if the old boy an still get through to him. Keep us updated.

Mac, even before I read your last post I could sum up this bloke.
His old man is probably been local forever and is a local identity and well respected. The young bloke probably tends to live in old man's shadow and has been spoilt from day one. Young bloke probably rips in the surf, has a huge ego together with a high level of arrogance he struggles to respect people. In a sense you were making excuses for him allready saying his reason for rant was cause of his heat coming up.
At my age, I'm too old for that confrontational sh1t but good to know it's still there if required.
His day will come carrying on like that.

i reckon you must have treated him like the whipping boy when you were a treasured customer of dukes and he's hated your guts from day one.

What is it with owners of prestige cars ?? They seem to think the can just park wherever the hell they please

Funny thing Mac we have the same situation at work . We had a cranky old bloke next door about 90 , can't walk , has his daily outing to the take away bottle shop for his flask of wine on his mobility scooter , can't drive . But if anyone parks in or close to his driveway he goes off .

As you can imagine we get a few clients panicking so not thinking where they park and they regularly coped an earful of abuse and a walking stick waved in their direction pretty funny to watch .

Anyway a few months ago he was carted away to the old peoples home we breathed a sigh of reileif , the old blokes daughter from Sydney moves in , she is 10 times worse then he was

he's probably stil scarred after he walked in on you trying on boardshorts.....
