Hey breezers,

I know a few of you have stayed here and these look like the quietest and most family friendly beaches in the area so any suggestions for mid price accommodation?

We have the bub so we need aircon and close to the beach.
We're trying TripAdvisor but it doesn't class balangan or Impossibles as a separate area so it's very manual search and nothing's jumping out.

Appreciate any help... Yew

I used to sleep on the upper deck of the second warung on your right when facing the water at Balangan.
Easy to find, there were only 2 and the other one didn't have a deck.
Didn't have electricity, or air con (or anything else actually) but maybe they've gone all modern since my last visit.

I never stay there Andy - just visit on my way out or way back in. Lovely spot - not ideal for swimming with the lady though - although at the top end on high tide it can be good. Looks like you have some serious swell heading your way. Enjoy!! There are lots of places on the beach front now that you can stay in - pretty sure they are probably a bit on the expensive side. I know its not ideal cursing round trying to find somewhere to stay with a wife and young kid so perhaps just take a place for alight and when you get there do a recon mission and find something. There are loads of options around there these days and although Trip Advisor is a good sight it is far from comprehensive on all options.

Thanks guys, we'll see how we go then.

Yeah, swell hit today and Playgrounds was really not so playful for the avid longboarder got drilled a few times bad but managed to pick of some smaller ones after a while. Gotta say though, my backhand surfing is sh1t!

Photos or it didn't happen

Did you hire a board or take yours?

wish I'd taken the SubX as the rent boards here are just rubbish. Surfed lacerations yesterday was head high and super fun but today Playgrounds was bigger but WAY heavier, real throaty and heavy and well beyond my level, even with one of my boards I suspect. We ended up surfing another reef to the south of Playgrounds which was head high and great fun, except it was a left

Good times but looking forward to a a couple days break, 3 days straight of 2hr surfs plus snorkelling and the arms and shoulders are fried

Looks like we may end up at Padang Padang now, thoughts?

We stayed at Coconuts, arrived with no booking it is a pain to get around and find accom with wife and kids in toe,we came across Coconuts and were pretty happy there. Basic food,we ate toasted sandwiches but a great view of the breaks and a short walk to the waters edge.Cant believe you didn't take your board.

Bali is just a stop over on route for me these days - I usually only stay for a night or two max each side these days - normally in Tuban - close to the airport and the reefs and it means when you have hit the Bukit you do not need to come back through the traffic when you come back later in the day. Legian down by 66 is also another option I use if I intend to do some shopping, drinking etc because I am surfed out.

Padang Padang is a great spot - lots of Euro trash populating the beach - can make for fun times - maybe not as much if you are married though Loads of boards around there that you can hire. Its a pretty heavy wave though - be warned.

Yeah, I have no intention of surfing the left at Padang Padang that thing is heavy but I see there's a right there suited to the LB and its not far from maybe impossibles or balangan. The accommodation we found is more family friendly there so should be fun
