Hey, I work with a bunch of engineers doing the cost engineering for the concept and feasibility stages of major projects... At the moment, dirty big gas compression stations, so that we can deliver domestic gas to most of you for cooking, and water heating. Fossil Fuel, yes, but in the bad old days, the "drillers" used to literally throw it away to atmosphere as a waste product. And it's a better net result than electricity....

Anyway, they boys started up their own brewery a few years back... They utilised their existing knowledge on processing, process pipework, valves, vessels, and industrial heaters (for heating cold gas, etc).... And they stretched the envelope, and got a brewery going....

My Son in Law gave me this for my birthday, a 6 pack of Grand Ridge beer.

I've never heard of Grand Ridge.

Anyone ever tried it?

hey there Obs - the wheat is full-bodied and not too foul actually , could have done with 6 more of those ..... the bitter is probably the pick flavour wise .... the others well a lager is what it is (better on tap) the blondes are dotty (sorry lighter on the palate mate) ..... keep 'em for a special occ , or a party do you're off to mate

Thanks for the advice, I'll make a special effort to get through all of them one and a time and report back on a favorite.

Novelty stuff - not sure if they're still around even to be honest and also didn't know of them either , something different to wash the ham down with isn't it?- I got 'em given to me by an Uncle at christmas just gone.

As for the dotty blondes .... well we do all like a pure blonde smelly don't we obs?

Never had much luck with Blonds, well, not real ones.

The missus is a blond, she wishes.

Funny looking at some men and women around town who are still struggling to keep thinning hair dark. They use so much dye, their scalp starts to go purple

Almost as funny as an old dude wearing a cheap rug made from a black ponies tail with all his grey bum fluff sticking out the sides.

I reckon the funniest is those transplanter jobs , the strands they plonk back into these poor sod's bonces make them look like D Grade Porno stars , or Industrial Broomheads (scusi the pun!).... had an old workmate who got fleeced with one of those , every time he put his safety helmet on the "broom' would moult and bristles would waft down to the floor spent a fortune to look like a 10 year old wooden industrial broomhead
Got myself a shearset a while back , the No1 is a great implement ... although in our Charnelhouse climate in Perth 35+ degree day summers , just have to watch it a bit out on the water for getting chargrilled.
Blondes .... mmmm .... not many of them are "pure bump" blondes Obs , the eyebrows are one give away

They had a launch at Five Islands Brewery (WIN Stadium) and then Coogee for the 'Sydney' launch from memory.....Post Office no longer.....a lot of the old haunts have long gone and are empty.

It was the Pale Ale tonight with a spicy pizza.

First sip was good but it went down hill with every subsequent guzzle.

I was very pleased to finish it.

I've had Pale Ale before at a pub Brewery and didn't like it then either.

The Wheat Beer is in the fridge and ready for tomorrow night.

You ought to be on stage.

^ Yeah, every week or so, we usually have him on stage in The Longboard Bar !

Longboard pale ale is a very nice drop but at $24-25 a 6 pack it would want to be. ( I drank it at a free sampling)

I noticed 3 things today;
1) Long Workable Walls at Winki.
2) Coopers Pale Ale on sale at my local Woolies for $40. There's a fair chance it is either a national sale, or at least state wide...
3) Coopers is celebrating 150 years of brewing...

There's hardly been a better time to buy a case of Coopers Pale Ale !!

I stocked up with 3 slabs, and that will also get me maybe 10 cents off petrol - roughly $5.00.

My Uncle & Aunty have one of the best farms on the Bellarine Peninsula, and the council will be taking it away from them when they pass away... haven't got to bottom of that one yet... compulsory acquisition...

Okay, the Wheat Beer had it appointed destiny with my Kidneys tonight.

It washed down the left over spicy Pizza from last night.

Unlike the Pale Ale, the last sip was every bit as good as the fist one and it was a disappointment to get to the end of it knowing I didn't have another one.

It cleaned the palate very well, not crisp but not dull either.

Tomorrow it's the turn of the Bitter.

It's a hard job, but someone has to do it.
