They're good but I preferred the second one.

Too much surfing off the tail and too many shorty moves in the first one.

I agree. The surfing is good but I'm not a big fan of longboards being ridden like shortboards.

I've always been of that opinion but warming to it more nowdays. Sometimes I don't like watching that sort of surfing but enjoy doing it.

That Honolua bay looks like fun.

I reckon if you are able to do both then why not give it all a crack? I have two mal's now, one suits the single fin logging style when its small and the other can handle just about anything. I enjoy them both and when the conditions suit I can switch boards.

Had a wave at a little lefthander over the weekend. Took the log stlye board and was loving just trimming along and getting near the nose. I also forgot how much fun the little pivot turns are on your backhand, you can really shoot along the face off the bottom when you get it sussed.

I think it’s agreed that most of us say we don’t like watching longboards ridden like shorties but at the same time, most of us ride them like that.

I guess that speaks volumes about the ability of the people that can walk the plank, nose ride, etc.

That 10’6” Munoz of mine is a classic example of a board that, in the hands of a very average longboarder like me, needs to be ridden from the tail. I’m sure there are plenty out there that can move around and make them work; I’m just not one of them.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the thing and I my other boards are having trouble getting any decent time in the water. It’s really easy to get a wave, it really hustles across a face, it cuts through foam well, but the bugger simply refuses to turn with anything less than a really deliberate backfoot stamp on the tail, and sometimes you just can’t get that far back quickly enough.

Its penchant for pearling is also very strange, if you’re not paddling from a long way back.

Hey mac - I surfed maccas with tom this morning and I was getting some really nice little waves and gettin heaps of turns in but could not get near the nose so I lent my board to tom and bugger me, first wave and hes straight up the nose and perches there for about 30mtrs Every time I tried it this morning I just buried the nose and kooked it !! The irony is that tom has always told me that tuflites are too light and skatty and are crap nose-riders and now he is so stoked with my board he's gunna buy one

Not bbbbbbbbbbbbllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooddddddddddddddddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy likely.

He's actually thinking about the wood veneer version of mine - exactly the same board but with a tad more weight in it. I do love tuflites and kinda enjoy their lightweight skittishness and I especially love carrying them back to the car after a long sesh when my back and arms are shot to #hit.

I've got an 11' Munoz that I love. If I ever had to go down to having just one board it would proberly be this. Here is a little vid from a Wavewalkers get together last year.

Not sure how to post a movie on here.

I enjoyed that, at the very least it's telling me I'm turning it correctly and I should try to stay a little more upright.

And side bites are just a waste of time that will only slow you down.

I liked the big long turns in the Honolua footage but found the Agnes water footage a bit too busy. He is a good surfer without a doubt but there was too much going on doing too many turns on one wave. I really enjoy watching guys like Joel Tudor who can make it all look so much smoother and can ride anything on any sized wave.
