Forget budgets,what three boards would you have in your quiver and why?
Strictly longboards please.

10' McTavish Cruiser, 9'6" Tyler Hatzikian double deuce stepdeck log and 7'6" McCoy potbelly nugget (yeah I know it's not a longboard but at 67 litres is close.....)

10' Mctavish redline my 9'4" bear,i miss that board and a 7'6" 7S wave magnet.
i now the 7S is a mid,just getting in before Racey

3 boards - a log, HP shortie or all rounder like a Nano and a 6'10" to 7'2" gun for those bigger days

Sorry Mac - it does incorporate a longboard

For me
6'0 ish quad, fish type board.
7'2 single fin egg.
9'2 all rounder type lb. Wide nose, pulled in tail, not much rocker.

Seems there are a lot of short boarders hitting the lb room, must be cos were so cool n sh1t

I was originally thinking I needed:
Log style 10'
Performance 9' for the steeper stuff
Mid 7'

But the Hot Log handles the steep stuff WAY better than expected so now revised too:
Hot Log 10'
SubX 7'
And maybe now a big thick 10'-11' to perch my bub on upfront so she can experience the joy of surfing

The two i have at the moment a TJ pro HP and a Billy Tolhurst glassed in single fin log,both great boards for their particular conditions plus 7'0 gun and 3or 4 shorties pretty much got it covered

have a day off from the breeze and look what happens.


pppffff. this is all about mac justifying have 6 longboards

every time we have coffee after macs monthly surf I ask and try to understand what each board is for.

we both get confused


if your living for now one modern log will do. if your living in the past get all those mctavish boards

9'1 EvoII.
9'0 Fun Gun that Bob shaped.
Then I would flip a coin between the 9'6 Brewer, and the 8'6 Tracker...

A year ago it was all about the occasional pin and today it doesn't even make the top three.
