i have only been riding 2+1 set ups on my longboards....but i got to test ride a sdr thruster set up on his h/p longy. well after riding that im really hating to have to go back to a 2+1 set up,i have hated surfing it when it comes down to it

i found with the thruster that it was so easy to turn,still had alot of speed and was more forgiving when on/near the nose(i could pretty much steer board)

so now that most longboards are being made with shorty components, deep concaves,big tail/nose lift and some with some crazy rocker in them. will the longboards all go to a thruster. or will the 2+1 survive? i know i will never own a 2+1 again.. my new board will even be a 5 plug option so i can run it as a quad as well

Should be called 1+2, even though it is commonly accepted as 2+1. You asked for opinions!

I actually like the straight-line drive you get from a good 1+2 set-up.

But I hear what you are saying.

I like driving down the line more than dropping my wallet. Thruster set-up has merit though.

My last 3 fin mal had a 2+1 setup Chrispy . I got rid of that and put some bigger sides in and a similar size centre fin and it felt a lot better. If your getting 5 plugs you can muck around with it. Won't take long to work out what you like.
