Good stuff and good surfing too. Nice pigment colour on it too.
Must have been a light coat of wax for its maiden voyage.

I'm thinking pretty much the same. Maybe an 8'2. I still like the look of the Sumo.

Bit concerned of radical changes,so from 9 to 8 is a massive one for me.I did it a few years ago when the eightball first can out, great little board but I was packing an extra 10 kg back then and the conditions needed to be perfect so the board never got a fair run.
If I was asea's weight say 45 kgs I would jump on a Sumo.

If you're 10 kg lighter now Mac then you could go alright on an 8 or even an 8'6.
One thing for sure is that once you have gone to a longboard and ridden it for a while its hard to go short again. Its even worse if you surf crowded places.

the board is a carbon fibre 9,2 custom with a full thruster setup.

if it aint 9 foot in length it cant be called a longbord

support your local shaper in your smaller stores i like hayden as making boards for nearly 50 years, they dont mass produce in tawan like the one your talking about

should try a custom, not just off the rack

this is my opionion all are not the same but we are losing our local shapers fast, thanks to the pop outs from over seas.

hug your shaper

I reckon just buy Australian made boards. Theres plenty of boards mass produced here as well now but there will always be a market for custom made boards.
Theres nothing wrong with getting one off the rack though especially if its really close to what you want.
Beware of the cheap glass longboards you see on EBay.
In the end you get what you pay for.
