Hi All,

I'm looking to step onto a high volume, cruiser longboard for small days and micro-waves. I'm really looking to 'up' my cross stepping and noseriding game this year. I'm 6' (1.85m), fit and vary in weight between 89-97kg depending on wetsuits/season)

I've had some experiences seeing guys literally paddling circles around me on high volume boards catching absolutely anything and everything on small days. These guys were practicing pop ups on flat water in between sets. Granted, most of them are smaller than me (wiry gymnast looking blokes)

Any thoughts on 11 vs 12 for me at my size? The thickness of the 12 scares me a bit, but relatively it seems like the volume I need to achieve the same volume to body size ratio as what I've been observing.

BTW, I'll still have my 9'6" (81L) performance longboard for when conditions get pumping.

Unless they've made some significant changes to the ultra glide rails, rocker and bottom shape, you may be disappointed with its ability to nose ride.
I have a 10.6 and I love it but would never go near the nose unless I feel like going for a swim

On the thickness side I would think the thicker the better for what you want.

Your only going to point and shoot with minimal turns.

Just look at them cock head clubbies getting around, boards are. 6" thick and they are flying.

Either way let's us know what you decide and how it goes

I've had the 10'6 and it was a great board . I've ridden the 11 which is also good . The 12 footer is huge but I've never ridden it so can't comment . Regardless of what you get you'll get used to it and these boards turn pretty good and have got a fair bit of rocker. I reckon the 11 footer is plenty for your weight.

I'm as tall as you, but a good bit heavier. Typically 100-105kg, depending on wesuit/season... Nah, kidding, depending on whether I've been on lagers or ales!
Anyway, our last trip to Hawaii, I hired the 11' model for a few days. It was fine for me in the soft waikiki waves.
