hi guys just got my new gopro, used it the other day and was looking at the footage, had a little problem with water droplets on the lens, i think i remember reading a post a while ago about putting a little bit of dishwashing liquid or something onto the lens can't fint the post so it would be helpful if anyone could confirm/deny, or tell me what you use to stop this.

Thanks

Jarryd

Licking the lens is mentioned somewhere.

I believe a rub of dish washing liquid does the trick. I wish I used it yesterday.
It always ends up at the worst spot on the lens - good old Murphy's Law.

A dab of dish washing liquid on your finger, gentle smear on the lense, then a dab of water over it and you'll be sweet....every 15 mins or so, rub your finger lightly across the lense too just to remove any salt water that might cloud the lense and you'll be done.

I forgot on Saturday so at 6am stopped at a servo asked for a dab of dish washing liquid and I then got 2 hours great footage with no drops.....too easy !

'Rain-X Orgininal' from an auto store is pretty good. Dishwashing liquid reduces surface tension so you get a thin layer of water instead of a drop which is ok, but still gives some distorsion. Rain-X increases surface tension so the drops form beads and shake off fairly easily. Don't use it on the inside though as any fog that forms is very white!

I generally use Rain-X but turn into a lens licker when I forget.
