I have not really warmed up to using a full set of C-drives on a Creek.
I believe that the C-drives make the Creek slower to turn
Hi Rick,
I suggest(*) you do the opposite:
Use C-Drive on the sides, they provide the hold. You can even go with the C-Drive twins.
But use a small central fin with a small base and rake, C-Drive in the rears can stiffen a lot a board. I used the smallest C-Drives as rears: grommets or trailer sizes.
(*) Well, my real suggestion would be Quobbas, of course :-)
I hear you colas, I have been a big fan of large sides with small trailer on many boards...
but I have several size C-Drive sets and the bigger sides made the Creek stiff and lifeless.... because of the channels, the board has more than enough hold with medium sized side fins.
I have tried other smallish centers without the same results as this tiny J-drive which seems to have just the right amount of hold and loose.
I would love to try a set of Quabba's... but they are outside my budget.
If you would like to send me a set of mediums, I'd be happy to try them
