Took the old 10' style out in rubbish conditions yesterday and actually had a ball. I had forgotten how good a10'er can be also i feel the time on the short boards has taught me a lot as far as board control etc. Anyway it has me thinking perhaps I should upgrade to the new casey revolution. Has anyone ridden both the style and revolution, I would be very interested to know your thoughts. Cheers.

I think your on it Dave having the longer board in not so good conditions ,Like a dummy I took my 8,7 loose high rocker placid out in average surf yesterday pretty good size ,but I got lost in the rough and nose dived a few times .My 9,1 acid is way better in mess ,due to the extra length ,I would love to add a 10 footer or 9,5 to my quiver too .The extra length and volume in the nose keeps the board riding high out of the chop making them easier to surf in rubbish days which we get a lot of in winter ,revolution or style would be sweet to have ,style appeals to me more ,as its 30.1/2 wide ,the revo's are 28x 29 wide ,too narrow for me in rough ,

Longboards are different. A 29 wide longboard will be as stable as a much wider "short board" style SUP. Unless you are a beginner - and you are not - there is no point in getting a ten footer wider than 29.

Ok ,thanks BigZ good info ..sounds like I have to think different when thinking longboards ..not surfed many longboards in years ,not since the early Nalu days .

Hi mate, I agree if you have a quiver a 10x29 is a must have.
For myself my Nalu 10x29 is a perfect board, it will catch the smallest bump and the bigger it gets the better the Nalu goes. I was out this afternoon, just in time for the side/onshore breeze to arrive the surf was waist to shoulder high on the high tide. The bumps made waiting out the back a challenge, but the board caught the smaller waves and glided along easily. When the sets came the Nalu changed gears and provided a fast fun ride. It really surfs like a smaller board. From what I have watched on the net the Casey would be my pick if you want a ten footer that can handle any size.

For me the Nalu is getting to be my first choice of board to ride, I will always have a 10x29 in my quiver. I like the look of the Casey and also the Smik Hipster twin.
