this week has been premo dw ing conditons on the goldie. tuesday and wednesday particularly memorable. what made it good was a small swell running in the right direction with the wind swell.

maybe last one tomorrow, then it's game on again tuesday on

cheers

ps, to some that doesn't look that windy, but its usually quite good at a bit more then 15 knots. with the right direction swell the wind just knocks it on and you along more

Looks like a typical weekend forecast :-( but fingers crossed for something tomorrow.
You guys are lucky buggers who can paddle through the week.

Good to hear Lacey
What do you find to be the best period for DWing I remember that Hawaii' s trades were 7-8ft @ 7-8secs and everyone raves about it.
You are on a 17.6 sic now so i imagine a bigger period would suit you better i've only got a 14fter.
Thoughts please?

gee, i usually just go when its windy and work it out as i drive along south and look at a few cams. but checking todays charts on the breeze, it looks like your hawaiian trades.

tuesday the planets aligned or something, probably longer period which suits the bullet for sure. the bullet seems really good even at the start when the wind and swell are just kicking in- i'm usually well ahead of the guys there.

however of the outcrops like elephant rock and alley etc, not as good- too steep and short with the backwash, although not to bad today

you just have to hang tuff till you clear those spots. on wednesday straight pass the alley i got a filthy long set of runners where i was suppose to stop and wait.

luckily shieldsy had the same thing.

gold coastne spit runs- not much fun at all ,way too short. that where say a 14'bullet with steering might come into play

cheers

You rode the 14ft SIC with the rudder as that is all i need to complete my quiver, get rid of my glide sorry DJ
I think the smaller boards 14ft suit our shorter period windswells unless like you said you had a larger period swell in with the mix.
