Just done a downwind at 2pm today from broken head to wategoes....best ever, 4mtr swell and 30knts wind
Jsut feeling a bit lonely out there sometimes and wondering if I could get a wave to bring me into the cape without being smashed
Tomorrow noon will be the same conditions so if somebody is interested...

I'd like to know how the waves were at Broken?
Went down the GC yesterday arvo to be greeted with a small swell.
Unfortunately, this morning, my mate who I went with didn't want to drive down to Broken and so had to be passenger with him (the eternal surf checker) as we traipsed around from Cooly through to Hastings and back to Cooly, Currumbin and finally going for a paddle at Burleigh.
I'll continue to run solo surf trips as Ive usually do after this waste of time.
So love to know if the waves were clean down that end?

Respect Al, if you were out there today by yourself, it was howling an sizable. Was it tough getting back in?

yes I was solo because rahams surfed too much this morning and was too tired
the waves at broken were not good neither big because it was messy + the swell was full south, the swell was starting to come in at river mouth so it was very easy to get out. (The only place with clean waves today was the inside of lennox point)
But at sea the swell was really big so I had to go a fair way from the coast to go around big bummies outside. I was with a 14' because I must admit I was not sure how to handle the reentry in the bay at the cape with that swell. Anyway I was lucky in the timing and got a wave not too big that I could surf around the rock at little wategoes.
Sometime you need luck...but I had somebody looking for me with the phone number of the guys from the surf club in case I had not been lucky

That would be good for sure
I have done it several times....with my mountain bike at low tide on the beach with the wind in the back, fantastic!
I would be keen to do it, specially in september with the whales going south
