We just went o/seas and my partner found out that she can surf waves, not just paddle around - lakes rivers out behind the break etc). Now looking for a board to surf on as well as cruise. It has been a real blast - one of the best surf trips!
Cracked a few knee and waist high waves and then hooked into a head high Sanur reef screamer and was "yahooing" and a boatload of surfers coming out all stood up and raised their arms and cheered - f,,king brilliant.
Back to topic - Carol is 5'8" and 60 kilos, has been paddling a while and got good balance.

maybe an Imagine Icon at 9'6'' - needs to handle flat water cruising and surf - mainly friendly up to chest high waves on mid north coast NSW.

thought I had better add -- she caught theses waves on her knees because she was on a shallowish reef - has since caught some standing - sandy bottom creates a safer feeling and gives more confidence

Steve - sorry no fotos, but a great memory!

ANY RECOMMENDATIONS?

Great to hear she's got the bug....What about the 8'11 or 9'5 Jimmy Lewis Striker? The perfect 1 board quiver....The 8'11x30" is still 130L and Super stable & easy for a woman to handle or the 9'5 for longer cruise paddles....Just a thought...Happy paddling

I had the 9'5" Striker Steve, good board and should suit what you're looking for. 147 l from memory so will be good on the flat water too.
