Hey all

Ive done a fair bit of searching but can't find the exact answer...

Id like to try windsurfing my 2014 8'6" Fanatic Allwave (30", 130lt). Im an experienced kiter and surfer, i reckon i could teach myself in the appropriate conditions and location. (Your thoughts?)

Could one of the experts give me a quick "how to" on exactly all of the gear I will need?

I am 75kg and would want to ride in 13-18kts.

E.g:

Size sail (does any brand fit?)
Boom/bar?
Do i need straps?
Can i use a kite harness?
Any other peices i would need to retrofit the windsurf setup to this board?
Fins? Standard ok or do i need bigger?

Muchly appreciated!

Well after more searching, i think i found enough info here:

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/Review/Windsurf-sail-for-Allwave/

But id still like to hear from anyone who has actually done this... tips/tricks?

Thanks

I'd say a sail 4.7-5.3 and mast and boom to fit (any brand will work)

I would recommend foot straps (3) and your kite harness will be fine.

I'd also recommend a larger center fin (about 9")

You would be best to learn from a friend or get a lesson on a bigger board first.. Things like jibing and water starts are a hard thing to learn by yourself.

Good luck and let us know how you go..
