Just finished a 2 week tour round the South Island of NZ.... Unreal scenery and I was ever vigilant to try and find a secret break or firing spot while we wandered around. Amazingly, The sea was smooth with nice swell on both coasts... I reckon that doesn't happen often!!
Anyway, I spied a couple of mean looking slab breaks way down south that were the home to a few seals (and prob some 'toothy' dolphins) and didn't spot anyone in the surf till I got back up to Kaikoura on the Nth East coast. What an awesome bit of coast... populated by a few hardy souls ready to rubber up to the max and get into the very cool water. I don't own enough rubber to get in there too.... No stand ups but got a few snaps of a couple of great spots....

Great story! What is that amazing place with all the layers of rock? I can't imagine how that would have formed.

Thanks CSE but not much of a storyteller...

Funnily enough the place is called Punakaiki (Pancake Rocks) on the west coast north of Greymouth. For anyone into rocks it is a pretty cool place!

The swell was right up today and the wind was almost nonexistent. I ended up surfing a spot that I have never surfed before, a bombie out the back of a more regular wave, the bombie only breaks when it's really big. Definitely the biggest waves i have surfed in the Perth metro area ( an area known for having small waves) some big smooth walls and long rides, even managed to link one up to the inside break for a very long ride all the way to the beach. Good times

Yep it was on today! Scored a reefy that needs a heap of swell, a tad crowded but all in all still an epic session. Really dialled in footwork and felt like the board went next level as a result.

Thanks huey!

Wow - what a workout this morning was.

Only one place in Perth had a decent wave today, some protection from the wind but still a real challenge - 30kn+ winds.

Some nice wedges popping up. Jagged a couple of fun ones on my backhand - actually managed to link a few turns in - compress on the bottom turn, get the feet in the sweet spot, eye the section and... woo hoo!

Wearing a hood was a must this morning, bloody freezing!

Was out there on my own at dawn for about 10 min then the masses descended

Bit of a SUPdate from Darwin folks.
Had a cracking session yesterday morning with the incoming tide. Offshore, about a foot occasional bigger one and consistent swell.
32 degrees, just myself, and the 10'6 Style.
I know I keep ranting about how good this board is but it continues to impress (need to buy a GoPro).
Gets me into everything, and I'm finding it's incredibly responsive rail to rail - even in the small stuff.
Another session this morning (public holiday for the Darwin Cup folks - I think my horse is still runnin') but the Kona wind popped up earlier than predicted and the tide was fuller so it sent me home to do the lawns and catch up on about a thousand neglected house chores (aaarrghh!!!)
Needless to say, I've got the incense burning, a couple of handfuls of sand outta me boardies, a shrunken head I picked up at an op shop for two bucks and an old pair of busted thongs as an offering to Huey to dial up a bit of swell for the Top End so I can give the Style a run in a bit of juice!!!
COME ON BIG FELLAAAAA!!!

Loving your stoke!
Keep it up. - Photos would be a bonus.
Electric Hamboard yesterday hiding from the wind.
But it was warm - shorts and T shirt. That changed today.

Good on ya Nozz'!
yeah, my brother's in Mornington and I've got a mate at Mordy - both tryin' to be upbeat about a mild 15 degrees.
Definitely diggin on the shredder though mate - they're good eh the Hamboards. I found a mob called 'Mellow' www.mellowboards.com

They do electric drives for skaters - not cheap - but jeez they'd be good fun. Same brakes as a lot of these hybrid cars have now eh. No wonder you're goin over the handle bars!

Im savin for a Shroom so the drive's gonna have to wait - either that or I get a second job (nup - that's not happening).

Will endeavour to get some photos for the Breeze crew from the top end - be warned though I've got ten thumbs and they're all left-handed when it comes to takin photos. Definitely not gonna take the movie world by storm that's for sure!
The photos'll be that blurry, you'll need a UN translator just to decipher em'!!!

Yesterday was too old and wise to go out at Makorori Point. Today was silly enough to go out at Makorori Point. Only caught about 4 waves in two hours. Rescued the board of another sup person who snapped legrope. Was fun though

Nice and beautiful. I love these days, neglected little nuggets of fun. Summertime joy with no wettie or leash.

At home. Saw the kids off. Cleaned up their crap. The ocean called. Took the Steeze down for a few post high tide beachies.
Lucky enough to run in to a chick with an 8'7" flow. Been wanting to see if one of these could float me for quite some time. We swapped boards for about half an hour. Gold. Love it when a board that seems so out of reach for a big fat hairy bastard sings. Good fun.
