Other forums have it so why not this one, with so many new comers to the sport its a good way to share your wins/losses and SUP adventures.

Me, I SUP'd a metro beachy, noticed the swell was a bit stronger than I thought with a little bit of west in it and better timing than forecast, water was beautiful and warm and there was no one out a Dawn.

I scouted a bank up the beach and jagged a couple of clean ones before the swell died off and the crowd arrived. One good sized one was so much fun, probably the first good sized wave I have had on the SUP - stoked.

Great topic, thanks for posting.

Yesterday evening,

Munna point to the Frying Pan against a 30k north east, across to the Noosa River mouth, into the river, around the Woods Bays then around the Noosa Sound and back to Munna Pont.

About 1.5 hours of absolute bliss. Love it.

ET.

Couldn't find the motivation even though it was a mild winter day. Decided it was a good day to build up some free time credits with the Boss doing chores. 6' 9sec air 51 water 55 had been strong on shore all night.

Yup. Actually I ended loving this aspect of surfing. Forced abstinence periods to keep the stoke burning!
Seems we won't be on the water here before Tuesday...

Ventnor, Phillip Island.
An hour or so in the morning, windy, choppy, but nice.

Not that it looks windy or choppy there.
Afternoon, another hour or so with the wife on the inflatable.
Wind had swung offshore, chop died down.

Terrigal this morning. Choppy and sloppy. Waters warm though and had it all to myself.

Norman Bay, Wilsons Prom. 2.5 hours - on-shore and messy but there were some good waves and I was happy.

Again in Douro River in Porto (Portugal). Board SIC X-Pro 12'6. About an hour training. The tide was getting lower and the current was also pushing to the ocean, but there were a few bumps caused by onshore wind and the tide, so I got to chase a few bumps going up and to do small interval sprints on the way down (next to the riverbank, sheltered by the chop)

Colas.

interesting point about maintainping the stoke.
During the working year I am lucky to go once a week. If tide and wind coincide in a negative way it can sometimes be once a month. Torture.
Between 21/12 and 11/1 I was on holidays and I pretty much went out 16 times of three weeks. Time was no barrier. I even forced myself on days because I know that during the year it is tough. I actually only had my Starboard Covverse iSup at my disposal for most of that time but I managed to surf on it for 14 of the 16 days in half foot to 3 foot max waves. The body was exhausted but I pushed myself at times because once I am out there all the pain and worries of the world just glide away.

Now back a I at work so I am he mercy of the weekend tide and winds

btw I have actually kept a count on my effort. Since mid November 2015 I have gone out 74 times and spent around $4.5 to $5k not including petrol (say $67 per SUP use). The pay off is improving

Gboots.

Bummer about work getting in the way man..
My best times are before work.
I don't take it for granted though. Every day I think how lucky I am to be doing this.
It makes such a difference to my physical and mental health.
Long may it last!
Was out of action last year for a few months and it nearly killed me.

I like your financial analysis... I'm quids in for sure.

Re - Keeping the Stoke.

One of the benefits of the SUP I found was that it is pretty versatile - I am getting into surfing it more but still enjoy the River and Marinas that are all within a 15-20m drive. With these options I can almost always get a paddle of some sort in when time permits.

Before work in Summer is awesome, made even better with a coffee and brekky before heading off to work. Having recently having a baby boy my sessions are not as long but my wife gets that getting out pays dividends in the long run so I get ample leave passes

It was a dark and stormy session yesterday my friends. Stinging rain, strong wind, but fortunately 45 degrees off-shore. Took the Flow so it was easier to paddle into the wind. It was like downwinding back out. Started with waist-high waves but later found a few head-high waves. But the skies got darker, the wind strengthen and swung more along-shore, the seas grew rough, and the 20-25 knt squalls would knock me off my board. It was 2 hours of fun and adventure. (But no photos...)

Back on the Port Hacking again today for a few hours. 45 mins of "fitness paddling" into the wind and chop and then some mini downwinders sets for the first time on this board . Super

Terrigal again this arvo. Tide going low swell south same as wind after the minor southerly change. The bank was a bit treacherous.

Bugger! I thought I saw some good waves on the surf cam but couldn't get down there early.
Was hoping for similar conditions this arvo but was pretty crappy really.
