Got a massive surprise yesterday - a pod of Humpbacks within 100 metres of the shore just south of S bends. I wanted to get closer but they were huge and thought it best to just cruise along next to them with a bit of a buffer

Yep, probably the same whale that came really really close to the Maroochy river mouth sunday too. Amazing a creature so big, can be so close to you without you knowing till its right there! Wonderful day on the water. great time of year.

David, Jennie, Alan and I had a Mum and calf right up beside and under us at training this morning.

Yeah Sunday was pretty nice, the water was crystal clear too, managed to drop my sunnies in the water and could spot them on the bottom in a good 2.5 metros of water and get them back
