Anyone got advice on quality wetsuit booties for SUP surfing? I'm an intermediate on a 2015 Starboard 8'10 Widepoint Wood, and it's not so much the cold as the shallow rocky reef break which I SUP most often, that has me thinking booties are a good idea.
I'm most the way across the line on a pair of "XCEL 3MM DRYLOCK SPLIT TOE BOOTS" off surfstitch. Also gotta factor in the misses will be wanting a pair too. Any ladies boots specific tips also appreciated...
Mate I ripcurl flashbomb..spilt toes 3mm with the internal fire lining..toasty..and get 1 size smaller than your normal shoe size
Yeah +1 on the flash bomb or something similar. You want low ankle , split tow , and a strap because low ankle models get sucked off your foot without a strap.
Same as Piros, I use the 1mm ripcurl tropical reef booty In victoria. They have great grip and a good feel. My feet aren't toasty warm but I don't want to lose to much feel.
I got the Flying Objects bootie.
Constructed in FlatLock seam technology and using DuraFlex for durability and comfort the FLUX Shoe is intended for use in warmer waters. As a result our shoes specifically cater to use as foot protection from sharp objects and use Armour plated re-inforced soles. Other features also include Internal split toes, water release holes and ankle drawstrings, offering good value for money.

+ another for the Ripcurl but E-bomb (ultimate) split-toe long boot. Mine are 1.5mm as I also like to feel the board and use them windsurfing - I picked the long boot so it tucks up under wetty.
I got some of these and wore 'em flat water paddling here in NZ for the first time yesterday and they were toastie.
Should be surfing in 'em on Thursday so will let ya know after then if need be!
Only wear one when surfing reef breaks on the rear foot Great to help touch down when dragged into shallow areas
Not cold enough in SEQ
O and E brand in split toe
Yeah +1 on the flash bomb or something similar. You want low ankle , split tow , and a strap because low ankle models get sucked off your foot without a strap.
Piros is spot on. O'Neill do a very similar "Reef Shoe" they keep your feet warmer and are very handy whhen surfing over shallow reefs
Guys can any one recommend a pair that are not the split toe design,i have two fused toes on my left foot that unfortunately make the split toe incompatible with me,thanks in advance..!
I started a week surfing reef breaks thinking I'd be tough. After cutting my feet up I decided I would actually wear the booties I took with me.
I have some of these
