There is a line between sexy and sleazy - different for each individual - if any individual finds the thread sleazy, use your right to choose and do not go there. Do not bugger it up for people with a slightly different line level.
Classic example --- was a lifeguard for years and one particular morn as I set up the flags ( approx. 70 metres apart ), two beautiful young ladies came onto the beach , said hello and went and set up right next to a flag (inside the flagged area) - took off the gear ad sun baked topless - nice start to my day!Next people to arrive were a woman and husband with 3 kids. She dragged them down to about 4 metres from the girls (remember she had 70 metres of clear beach) - she set up the brollie etc and then made a beeline for me. Her first words to me -- quote "what are those sluts doing on this family beach"
Point is -- she had 70 metres of beach to choose from - sat next to them so she could come and whinge and try to ruin their day.
you have hundreds of threads to choose from - read sexy sup thread to whinge because you are only happy when whinging
Steve
I am not going to comment about the nude women on the family beach; my previous comments said enough.
But I will say that this is not about
whinging. I like this SUP forum (and have made >800 constructive comments in the past couple of years) and I knew that by voicing my opinion I would be upsetting/annoying people who I like (albeit virtually) and my experience on this forum will therefore change for the worse. And I have seen the "sexy SUP girl" thread for those two years and kept quiet.
But enough is enough.
The comments and images on that thread in the last few days (especially aimed at Coco who was expressing the opinion of
many woman
and men), and the creation of this thread, has gone way too far.
Having a thread with that title popping up all the time is not cool
in my opinion.
But you are right, just as the little kids on that beach could have averted their eyes, those who don't like what those images/comments
represent don't have to look at them or read them. But when you come to a forum to hear SUP stories, to share in the SUP experience, and to learn about the latest SUP boards/products, having these threads, with those titles, pop up again and again is offensive to enough people that something had to be said.
