Went there last year didnt sup but saw some pretty big swells in the stretch between danang hoi an and na trang. Try sup monkey in hoi an or am pretty sure theres sup hire in na trang as well. It didnt drop below 4ft for the week we were in that area was a little straight though. Try north of na trang where surf hire place is or hoi an which is a lot nicer to stay in. Dont miss halong bay for a overnight cruise is stunning. Marble mountain near hoi an is worth a look too. Foods sensational try the bun mai from the street vendors and white rose in hoi an. 30c draught beers just watch out for hanoi vodka 6 bucks a bottle can run your car on it.

Can recommend a place called like hoi an hotel. free shuttle bus free bike hire great rooms and cheap. Stay in the old quater in hanoi for atmosphere rising dragon villas was nice clean and amazing service. Da nang stay on the river side not the beach side its a ghost town during the day on the beach. Na trangs just surfers paradise for russains. Ho chi minh id reccomend staying longer in hanoi or hoi an. If you need to get out of the heat a few days in the mountains at hue would be more pleasant cause it will be insanely hot that time of year. Opressively hot. New kind of hot. Hot hot hot if you get my drift. Last tip to cross the street dont wait just walk slowly look down and never stop and just pray as everyone rides around you. P.s hope you like corriander lol.

Sorry one last thing. You can fly between hanoi danang nha trang and h.c.m for $40 if you book a week to 10 days out otherwise it jumps to $120. If not its 12hours on the train from hell for $30. We also saved $500 by flying to bangkok then a $40 flight to hanoi.

also the national food is noodle soup spelt 'pho' pronounce 'fuh'! Don't ask for a beef 'fo' as you're asking for a beef hooker...Certainly a must have though...the soup I mean. Second the comments about nah trang - I think the airport close to there is called 'cam ran' airport - I remember flying in on the plane and looking out the window to see perfect ~2ft barrels on a sandy white beach with no one out, crystal clear water...didn't get to go out but man I wish I did. Also if you wig out crossing the road, just find some locals that are about to cross and follow them - absolutely loved Vietnam. If you get a chance check out the war museum in ho chi minh - pretty eye opening if you're interested in that side of history. Kind of refreshing to hear it from not the US side for once. Must go to hoi an, very cool old quarter, french style architecture. It's the place where you go 'to get clothes made' too, if you're keen.
