URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT:
With surf conditions as they are, though forecasted to ease in the morning, the contest committee has decided to make the go/no-go call for the final surf sup round at first light tomorrow morning.
We apologise to those who will travel far and wide for the final round, however, it's a borderline call.
The committee has been assessing conditions from shore and in the water all afternoon. If the forecasted ease doesn't eventuate, or doesn't ease enough overnight, the contest will be pushed back to a later date.
As it stands, we believe only a handful of competitors would be able to compete safely. While we know everyone would like to challenge themselves, the club has a duty of care to make sure everyone in the water is safe. A contest is not the place to test your abilities.
Please be aware, there is a high likelihood the conditions won't become favourable, given the accuracy of forecasts this past week. However, we could very well end up having the best conditions for a surf contest in the Club's history. Please keep that in mind in making your decisions.
For those travelling far, bring a race board incase the contest is called off. We can always challenge ourselves around the SUP 5.0 course on Narrabeen lake (approx. 15min drive from contest site) which starts at 8am. Otherwise, you're more than welcome to find a suitable spot to surf.
