Brenno said..So, I saw this thread last year and thought, "Yep, that's what I'm doing next".
Tully has shaped some great boards for friends and family, so I was confident in getting a quality product.
Just getting in to a bit of nose riding and struggling a bit on narrow low volume boards, I thought it was time to fun it up in time for winter......
My bro bought it up on Saturday, and even though the conditions were atrocious I took it out anyway. Nil by waves but the stability and glide were spot on.
Sunday morning was a bit better with no wind, but a huge full tide and some steep peaky shore breaks. Not really ideal long board territory but managed the steep drops surprisingly well. The big single controlled the rate of descent and the quite sharp rails back on the tail steered me out of the sh1t with ease.
I will report back after big bad debbie buggers off, and the ocean doesn't look quite as angry. Really looking forward to this beauty on a clean wave....

Have had half a dozen sessions on this sweet beast, so time to report back. This morning was the first time since I've had her, that it was perfect conditions for me on this board.
I finally got all the way to the nose and couldn't stop doing it for about 3 hours. Fantastic fun.
I had trouble with the wax at first, even though i did a proper tropical base coat and warm top coat, if I went even slightly up on one rail I would slide off. With the wax. Only in the standing area though, where my feet were warming it up in 2 spots.
I was toying with the idea of hexa traction, but kept talking myself out of it. Wanted to keep this board pure. Since the water temp has dropped off it's been heaps better. I love the feel of it. Really connected with the wave.
As with all my boards I have beaten the crap out of the rails and not a mark. I put one slight knee compression dent in the deck falling on it heavily, but where I put my feet is still flat as. Finding it better standing slightly rear of centre, to get the quite flat nose up off the water, and turn easier on to the wave.
Surfing from the tail after walking back off the nose is surprising. The sharp rails near the tail make it quite easy to turn for a bigger board, and I'm finding plenty of time to then get back to centre to paddle out again.
Punches through waves nicely with a gentle shove, and I love that typical big glass board shudder. Feels alive.
And no, I don't miss the handle. Quite nice not to have to walk over it.
I hope this board lasts me years.
