Well I have wanted to buy another board for most of this year having thought about the Naish Glide, then fell in love with the Sunova Ocean Fast, flirted with a NSP Cocomat and then tried the Glide at a demo day.
Stock of the Sunova is non existent locally and I could not actually see the NSP I liked so tomorrow I am going to put a deposit on the last Glide in Aus before Christmas. Hopefully Santa allows my wallet to stretch enough to put it under my tree but it may take until mid January, fingers crossed.

Finally made a decision!!!! So soon I will be cruising on a 14x29.5 board getting from point A to point B much faster than I was on my lovely Mana, which I am keeping, now I just need to find a spot in the garage to keep it.

Congrats and good luck , I swore I would never buy a 14' I love my sup surfing so much buuuuuut once I did I was totally hooked just made supping even more fun

I'm going to sell my 12' touring Glide and buy a new Glide also after paddling one in Merimbula a couple of weeks ago..

It will be great to have you join us on St Kilda to Sandy downwinder..

I was going to buy a bag for it as well but I will sit on that for a while, but is it worth getting a bag for such a large board as I will mainly be just putting it on the roof racks and sitting on the beach for a few hours and should I take the plug out if I do stay on the beach for most of the day??

It depends how hot your weather is. But it's best not to leave any board in direct sunlight for any length of time. A bag is usually a good investment in that respect. Pick one with vent holes if you can, and the reflective surface ones are useful when the board is on a roof rack. Removing the vent plug can be done but it brings its own hazards - many a person has trashed their board by forgetting to put the plug back in when they go in the water. Goretex vents are best IMO because you don't have to do anything with them except give a rinse once in a while. I saw a board this summer where the foam had melted inside from being in the sun - and I only live in the UK which is hardly renowned for being the hottest place in the world.

This is very important. Leaving your board in the sunlight is just playing russian roulette with it. You may not see apparent damages, but its life expectancy will be severely reduced, and the amount will be random...

A bag with a reflective outside , or at least white, is mandatory. No need for vents if you just leave the zip open on 1'-2'. I leave mine open from mid-board to the fins.
On the beach, some tricks for leaving it some minutes without a bag: put it on the side to minimize the exposed area, cover with a white towel, put it under a cheap board (eg the kids inflatable :-) ), recover with a sand layer...

If the board is on the roof on a hot day loosen the straps and unzip the bag so the hot air can escape the bag. I found out the hard way as had the straps on tight and bag zip open at the back but the front of the board was effectively sealed by the straps and got cooked! Massive delamination! I had to get a new board and got a custom bag made with vents up the front to avoid this happening again.

Great news!!!!! My new wife of 1.1 weeks is helping me get my board before Christmas as a present, no wonder I married her!!!!

I saw a 12'6" GTW in there, looks great but the 14' version was $800 more which was out of my budget this year. Unfortunately I was technically working so a paddle was out of the question and the wind was on shore and full of Kites. I gave it a wash and cuddle when I got her home though, lol
