There's some really, really good deals going for Waikiki at the moment, but looks like we're headed to Tassie...in May... I know, I know... Had to convince the wif that I need to take a board - will probably the SIC 14 FXPro - the surf sups will have to miss out...I can get my fix(?) of cold water surfing at home in Vicco! But I'm looking for suggestions guys...where are the best (non-surf) spots to paddle? Apart from booking the boat, the itinerary isn't fixed yet. 2 week holiday, so we will cover a fair bit of the island, I imagine. Strahan / Macquarie Harbour is a definite. Other suggestions? Thanks
Hi Helmy, we are on an Island, where ever you go you won't be far from great paddling whether a river or ocean, afternoons are usually glassy that time of year and you could also score a winter surf at the Hobart points if you are lucky.

Going to go in Feb or March - tossing up wether to take car and van across or fly from Sydney and hire a motor home - hope to stay a month - $1200 for return on the boat! Would there be more options with the caravan - parks near beach - or pull up anywhere ( free camp ) in motor home? Steve

Choose a couple of spots and air b&b, very few camping spots near the beach, maybe ask LasteSupper as he was down here a couple of years ago in a van, might have a better idea.
