TassieD NWBR are more than welcome, but for insurance purposes you need to be member of Park Beach Boardriders Club, there is nothing we can do about that, but for $20 why wouldn't you want to be a member

the inter club could be run as a joint event by both clubs no matter where it is, so membership shouldn't be a problem.
surfing tas are looking at changing their membership structure, so that if your a member of a club that is affilated with surfing tas you will not need to be a member of surfing tas to go in a state event as you do now, i would think that when that happens you would be covered to enter in other clubs events by invitation, don't hold your breath though.

Its all a bit confusing , so NWBR members or PBBR members have to pay for a surfing Tas membership to compete in the state titles , even though they are already paid up members of a board riders club . Agree it would make a lot more sense to pay one membership which includes your state membership as well as your club ..ESP since surfing Tas oversees the clubs anyway .
Would think a lot of people think that's how it works now.
The disadvantage I guess is that it will increase club membership fees , but you would think most members would prefer to pay once , then pay and then have to pay again .

That's right TassieD, it's the only sport that i have come across were you have to member of the state body to enter the state champs even though your club is affiliated and pay affiliation fees to the state body, I can't see how they can push up the club members fees when the clubs are already paying fees to the state body, maybe it's something the clubs need to put to surfing tas ?
Why don't you start a new thread to see what's happening in the other states ?

HE SAID HE'S COMING TO TAS
FEB & MARCH .. WHERE ARE YOU E T ?

WE WANNA CHECK YOU OUT.

Ohhhh how nice. Someone cares.

Yep I said I was coming and had everything booked. But a family issue forced a cancellation.

Have been to Tassie several times and I love the place. Done the Overland Track, white river rafting down the Franklin, heaps of other walks and remote camping. Done the food trail on Bruny, now that is cool.

So Mr 2MT our aim is to come same time next year. My wife and I have had to take custody of one of our grand kids as his father has turned out to be an ice user and dealer and was beating the crap out of our daughter.. He is sorted, the little bloke is sorted and now the big task is to get daughter sorted. Hence no Tassie trip this year.

All good though and pushing on. Fark me it is hard sometimes though.

Thanks for noticing my absence in your beautiful part of the world.

ET.

Park Beach Boardriders will be running their inaugural "I've Cold Classic" comp on 29/6/14, that's the weekend after the "TassieSUP Winter Classic" so everyone should be in top form or hoping to make amends after their performance from the weekend before

We're coming back on the ferry on Sat night

hope to be a late entry at the PBBRC event

on Sunday .. but won't have taken delivery

of the Bombora by then.

Got a wave down at Shoreham today on the

eastern side of the Mornington Peninsula.

Very cruisy and not unlike Carlton River.

Hoping to get back to my Home state sometime this year for a holiday , and hit some surf. You blokes look like you have a good thing going on down their. Anyone paddled down the Franklin yet on a sup? , or the Gordon river? So many awesome places to paddle in Tas.

Hey tea tree, there is a trip you can do where they fly you into the franklin in a seaplane with inflatable sups.

Awesome , how good would that be. I remember some days as a kid in Macquarie harbour on fishing boats , could cut up rough would be good for downwinders. Their must be places in Tas that would rival or better Hawaii's famed downwind runs. Albeit a hell of a lot colder
