Hi guys. Just wondering how the Takuma v100 foils compare to other sup foils like slingshot, naish & some others with twin track attachments. Got a board with fair bit of rocker that will be adjusted but the board is a slow paddler so I will need maximum slow speed lift. Also was considering the slingshot H4 wing & Naish large.
Already tried the naish medium & was a dog to get up speed to get it lifted. And that was behind a boat. I weigh average 80 kgs.
Need multiple practice in surf as a boat isn't always on the ready on my surfing days.

Interesting you found the Naish Thrust Surf Medium hard to get up on behind a boat????? I am not to sure how you have set things up or on what board, but at 80kg, you should be flying with ease at low speeds. You say your board has lots of rocker and very slow to paddle, this does not sound like a good board for foiling.

The Thrust Surf Large is about 20% bigger than the Medium, and produces a very nice stable lift. You will feel the drag a little more with the large due to it's extra size, but the lift is massive. All this asside, if you can not paddle to speed , no foil will lift. The Naish Surf foils lift very early, and I can catch un broken swells and ride next to nothing on them at 96kg. I suggest re-visiting your board set up, possibly looking at a wedge to adjust mast angle to counter the huge rocker of your board - http://www.greypaddleboards.com/product-category/hydrofoils-accessories/ .

Good luck with it all, Ride safe,

I'm about 75kgs, have both the Naish medium and large wings, and have zero problems with early lift off...both SUP and prone surfing (+ wind and kite foiling). As JB suggests, check that your mast is perpendicular to your boards deck (and hence the fuselage and wings will be roughly parallel to the deck) A lot of retro fits / foilmounts etc also need a shim to tilt the mast forward. Once you get it set up correctly.... its awesome!
