Spending a week up at Bargara over Christmas at the camp grounds near the surf club. Just wondering if anyone has any input on the surf up there? What board/s shall I take? Pretty sure its a slow cruisy wave.

Cheers

Thanks mate, I have 5 days up there to explore. I'll have to pack my 10 footer and my 8 footer and see what pops up.

Born and bred at Bargara as a young fella , but living on Goldy now. Take the biggest board you own as the waves are small and gutless due to Fraser Island blocking off any ground swell.
Only gets big on a strong southerly or cyclone swell. Expect 1-2 foot wind swells on a very flat wide beach. Practice riding the rock break to the right of the surf club.
Bargara , Kelly's beach and Mon Repos beaches are all next to each other so try them all. Water is warm and clear so take your snorkelling gear.
BTW the caravan park is awesome and close to the beach.
