Does anyone use anything like this ^^^^^ to keep the sun off the old hands. I use plenty of sunscreen but would like to fully protect the tops of my hands from exposure. I think it is just the nature of SUP paddling more so than just surfing that the tops of your hands are very exposed.

I certainly don't need them for the cold and only stumbled across them in gumtree when I was casually searching for the "next" board.

Any recommendations, experience, links and how to work out if your hands are L, M or small?

You could try the fingerless fishing gloves if its just the tops of your hands you are worried about.

I've been using a pair of fingerless Seak kayak gloves from Anaconda for the past 2 years - they provide sun protection for the back of The hands and grip for the paddle. $24.95

I like neoprene webbed gloves for paddling. If you lose the paddle out wide they will get you back to shore way quicker. The webbing does not get in the road at all.
If you get ones with ureathane grip spots they also allow you to use less power to grip the shaft.
I use half finger length. The ones I bought I cut the fingers down even more than they came. I got H2Odyssey Tipless Webbed Paddle Glove [MEDIUM].
Make sure you don't get too big or too small. Too small and bending them will fatigue you hands ( no one seems to understand how to cut wet glove for hand curl like bicycle or motorbike gloves). Too big and they will bunch in your palm and cause blisters.

If you are only worried about the sun, $5 bunnings type slim fit gloves does the trick.

Rubberised grip.

That is a touch misleading. The gloves I have have "shiney rubber" on the palms and it is almost like glue even when wet. I have to use significently less grip to hold the paddle. There is a ureathane specifically designed for wet grip. To the point where I no longer have to wax the paddle shaft. ( see link above). Used on some work gloves have the same "rubber" to aid grip when working with sweaty hands ( The gloves I use for MTB are these)

+1 for the seak fingerless gloves from annoconda. Ive had mine for 5 years, velcro gone, straps gone, but still work a treat. I have pair ripcurl 2mm gloves for the cold days and downwinders. I'll post a picture. (I also find no need to wax paddle shaft with seak gloves and ripcurl wetsuit gloves. Although wetsuit gloves feel weird at first, then toasty warm when your freezing your ass off.
