kia Ora kiwi bros'. I am flying AirNZ from Sydney and found that I have to go through Cargo as my board is 8'9" (2.7m) meaning I have to take to airport 6 days before departure. Max length they take as check-in luggage is 8' (2.5m). Only going for a week to Waihi beach via Auckland.
Any recommendations on sup hire?

That's crazy you can't fly with a board that size. Best to speak to them, worth a go.

Try Boardstore then it's not too long s drive from airport.
Problem is getting a similar board.

Did get a small amount of damage which Air NZ covered.
