Too many memories and too any pics from what was THE best Merimbula Classic in my books.
Anywayz here's some pics and results from the down winder yesterday. Conditions were not perfect but it was beautiful out there!

That was a fun run. Technical tricky conditions having to constantly surf & quarter left but still bumps and glides to be had!!!
How good were the Pambula Rivermouth waves at the end!!!!!!

Thanks for the second pic (Kathy and me) at the back of the group.. I kept telling Kathy "it's not a race"..

It was hard going for me and most of the not so serious paddlers in those light-wind and messy water conditions..

I got some vid (I think) .. It's those conditions that really seperate the men from the boys..

It was great to have JR (Jeremy Riggs) joining us..

Thanks for organizing AA, such an epic bay for downwinding & you win the prize for biggest escort boat ever. That was a challenging surf zone at the finish on tired legs & it got the better of me...fell 3 times in the last 300m & lost a place each time...lucky it wasn't for sheep stations. A few of us had a great run on (windy) Thursday in the reverse direction. See ya next year.

Shame we didn't get the wind that we got on thursday..

That was taken at Eden looking across to Twofold Bay.. (I think it's called)

We did the safe option DWer across Pambula lake and along the river to the Pambula river mouth..

I got some vid that I'll edit and post soon.. It was a fun paddle..

Dean Elcoat caught some pics of the finish of the DW race at Pambula River mouth. Nice sequence of me falling ass over tit first and then finally catching a wave through. Absolutely cracking fun!!!! Yeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww!!!!
