Sorry for the stupid Q, yet cant let it go

If all i care is a straight paddling (say i never turn)

What happens i placed a fin in the center of the board in addition to the one in the back? Or in the front?

I am talking about two or three fins in back /center/front.

That will ensure it will never lose track. Wouldn't it?

Tnx

I don't think the one in the centre of the board will do much other than just add drag.. Same with the side fins..

I've tried a nose fin once and didn't think it helped much.. I'd only use the side fins if there is a restriction on how big you can go with the centre back fin.. (box size or shallow water)

To paddle straight I'd be just using one big fin at the back (centre) and in the back of the box..

I'd use something like a 10-11'' dolphin shape with lots of area in the base of the fin..

What size is the board?

Fins wont help.

You need to enhance your paddling technique.
The most important tip is to have your paddle shaft in a vertical plane.

Row effect:

No row effect:

I advise picturing your board pivoting on a "nail", see:

Larger fin at back of centre finbox. Improve technique.
