www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/E-Z-Plugs/?SearchTerms=ezI'm not sure how they come packaged now but they used to come with an alcohol wipe and a little piece of sand paper and the instructions said sand the surface and clean with the alcohol wipe first before sticking them on.. IMO this was only if you want to use it as a leash plug and stick it on an old painted board.. A leash pulls with lots of force could pull the paint off.. With most new boards you just need to clean the surface with a damp cloth or some window cleaner and just peal the backing off and stick it on.. That's all I ever did and I've stuck about 50 of them on now.. The sand paper will scratch up the board.. and even the alcohol wipe with take off the boards shine and look dull where you used it.. So don't use them.
