Is that a kick pad on the back of the All Star? What a great idea. Will save me from running off the back.

pretty bummed that they dropped 5L off the volume of the 8x29 Pro. Too small for me now.

Looking forward to seeing what the new 18' Unlimited is all about! That extra 100 litres of volume is a big change from the GT... Any clues as to what the rocker is doing on it?

It's interesting to see that they've gone with wave boards - a wide point and a hyper nut - to match with the foil rather than anything leaning towards downwind.

Awesome boards. Is the new 8'6 hyper nut 2017 better in performance than the 2016 version. It guess it's possibly the big mans performance board ,????????

From what I saw in the shop (only the sub 8 ft Pro's at this point) the Pro's have had the noses thinned out considerably and a bit more bulk in the middle paddling section, "should" improve stationary stability I guess ????

Loz79: That is the 8'0 x 28 in the Starlite construction.

John1960: 2017 8'6 has been reduced in volume and rail thickness with the 9'0 coming in with more volume for bigger guys.

I like the look of the bulky kick pad wedge too....so much shuffling around on sups.....

Thanks for the info. Isn't the 8'6 hyper nut suitable to 110 kg. I have ordered the wood version . I think the 9' is too close to my 10ft mana which I love . So I will go for 8'6 hyper not for my performance and fun board . I weigh 108 kg and fit . It will make a good balance in a 2 board quiver???

Yeah, 9'0s in the 140-120L range are easy to come by, been on them since 2010. I'm 103 kg on a good day so the 8x29 going from 111L to 105L takes it from being a goal to a pipe dream. Really got my hopes up with the possibility of getting one in starlite for a sane price but now it looks like its back to hunting the secondary market for someone willing to part with one.

Hi John1960: I think you will be fine on the 8'6 will be a great addition for a 2 board quiver. At 108kg you will find the stability amazing for an 8'6 size board. check out the thread on the hypernuts loads of info from crew paddling them now and the changes to 2017 will mean a bit more performance and a slight reduction in stability due to reduced volume (still good for 110kg)

Yeah the new rails are what I'm most impressed by. That carbon innegra construction claimed to be stronger and scratch proof is a bit of a game changer.

I religiously put RSPro rail tape on boards when I get them. Are we now saying thats not neccessary on boards with these carbon Innegra rails, because they won't chip with a decent paddle whack??? Nice if thats the case

The rudder system that Marcus Tardrew put on the M2O dugouts used by James Casey, Matt Nottage and Toby Cracknell might be a relatively easy installation, but there is is always that risk of damaging the watertight integrity of the board.

Is there any info on thickness for the Pro's?

Weight of starlight construction? Prices reduced to what? Thanks for the update, looking forward to more info.

New 7'7 on the left (bottom) and the 7'5 on the right (Top). The new removable tail on the smaller pros will be interesting.

And then with the carbon range pictured above they have the colour in the actual blue carbon composition

which means the rails are less likely to mark from abrasions with the paddle,

so you won’t need the old rail tape



They sure are fine looking weapons.

Hi All in reply to a few of the questions posted:

Startlite Construction
Carbon Innegra Rails: The resin is impregnated with pain so there is no paint on the rails to chip.
Carbon Rail Band: Under the innegra is a carbon rail band on board under 10' for added strength and rigidity
Glass Stringer: Reinforcing stringer on boards below 10'
Weight: 1kg heavier than the carbon construction in 8'0 x 28 (these were actual production boards weighed not from spec)
[b]All Round Boards [/b]10'5 and below inc HyperNuts $1799
[b]Pro's [/b]$1849 (in FCSII Fin boxes and litecore fins)

Pro Thicknesses: see graphic below for a few more spec details on the pro models.
[b]Removable Tail Section: [/b]On the 7'5 and 7'2 models - allows a longer waterline and effect of moving fin position forward when in place. reports form Zane and Sean in testing is that it allows you 1 board for bigger and smaller conditions.


18' Ace is not available to order yet and we don't have much info to go on. As and when we hear more will keep you posted. We cant wait to get a bit more info.... and a change to paddle one!
