Hi all - I am looking to get a new 14' race board.
I live in an area where I won't have the opportunity to test the SIC and NSP out.
Has anyone ridden the SB Allstar 14x24.5 and either the SIC or NSP ? I tested the SB AS out and it was a little wobbly (was on the intracoastal - not flat water). What is the stability of this board in comparison to the NSP 14x24.25 or SIC 14x24.5?

To close to call. This one gets down to personal preference.
The c cup is good. But it is a recess semi canoe style. But it is quite solid with something like a danny ching fin in it. No sure how many are around. That why i gave my thoughts. A Gold coast shop has a demo 24.5 c cup

The rs is very stable. My friend has a 24.5 and says it is as stable in the bump as his 27ace. I have a 26rs and got it specifically for its insane stability. I tested it against the maliko 26, as26 and bayonet in very bumpy conditions and its wide nose and tail made it hands down the most stable board.

How tall / how much do you weigh? I've kind of narrowed it down to the RS as that's what most of my local shops carry.. Now debating between the 24.5 and 26. If the RS 24.5 is more stable than the Allstar 24.5, then I think I'd go with the 24.5.. If less stable, then I'd probably go with 26.

Currently for myself . Nsp.

Rs a good board. 24.5 can take a bit of rider weight. It sits better.

Be warned though . The rs 26 is a big board . To much for me. 80 kgs ish

Imo . The 2017.2018 were the beat

In my opinion chose either nsp carolina or sic rs, also don't forget to checkout the one evo, fanatic blitz and jimmy lewis sidewinde.

Yes size and weight of the paddler can really change what board is going to work for each.
I am a lightweight at 77kg and boards around 300L are not my favourite. Most of the time there are too thick and put me high above the water.

Then the 26" Maliko is likely borderline volume and might have less stability then for me at 77kg.

I'm 180cm and 90kgs. The 26 is a big board, but I have bad balance. The 24.5 is a much quicker board, it cuts through chop better.

A couple weeks ago I tested the SIC RS 24.5 and the All Star 24.5 on a lake. I've owned the RS 25 for almost a year. It has been a great first race board for me, but feels too big and too stable most days. I'm looking for a bit more challenge and, of course, speed. I am 6' tall and 175lbs (183cm, 80kg).

The RS 24.5 is more stable than the AS 24.5. The AS turns quicker and seems more willing to turn. The RS is very predictable and calm, especially going straight. I was faster on the RS, but that might also be because I am more accustomed to its shape. I would still like to try the NSP Carolina, or hear more from those who have.

OP probably has a new board by now, but I thought I'd weigh in for others.
