My family finally has got the Sup bug but my wife, kids and all their mates are trashing my boards . We live on the canal that's where they paddle not interested in surf . I'm keen to get some soft tops around the 10-0 mark , don't want anything to big it's too hard for them to handle .Not looking at spending a fortune but don't want crap either. I've seen a lot of the cheapies in the surf schools just fall apart.

These look great the Boardworks Joyride anyone riden one , great fin set up and perfect for putting the dog on for the river cruises. Any other suggestions ?

Any reason why you are looking at soft top and not inflatable? You have had experience with inflatables before haven't you?

Yeah got the inflatable but for river cruising they are pretty slow and the wifey and kids find it a bit hard to paddle they prefer the boards with more glide.

Did you consider the NSPs they are sort of like a soft top but more duarable?

we bought my son an 8ft Walk on Water (WOW) for his 6th Birthday last year (also came with a nice wooden Grom sized paddle). He loves it! Thruster set up too. A couple of my mates run schools and they either have the Angulo Soft Tops or the WOWs in 10ft, also good value. I know for a fact the WOW surfs surprisingly well!

One of the end of Series prizes for the 2011 Summer Series is a Coreban Soft Top - again very nice, with some nice 'girly' colours to choose from. Hope this helps!

Rob, I was in exactly the same position. After looking around at some of the soft tops on the market I went for a NSP 10'6.

It is just for friends and for me to paddle with the little bloke on it (wife has a fanatic fly) but has proven to be an excellent purchase. Goes well, has grip right to the nose which is good when kids are climbing all over it and as far as I have seen they still can surf a bit.
