Jused bathroom scales and looks to be abt 9.5kl.. I would not want it any lighter - spent years on the " 10'6" by 32" Laird " so 9.5 is light.

If it is a custom don't rail tape it.

If you ever have to remove, it will tear laminate off.

Tape your paddle.

First wave on the new board -custom Smik longboard Bonza. Shape, litres fin setup, rocker bottom contours have all contributed to the SPEED - exactly what I wanted! - thanks mate! Please view this and take into account it was very ordinary surf - but I could not wait any longer!!!

Took it out on Thursday with no centre fin - video - put it in now and going out for a paddle. Some extra food of board, fins etc. Hope to put up another video when some reasonable surf occurs - and I become more proficient.

Yes - ridden quad setup for a few years now - prefer more " horizontal " type lines with SPEED and flow rather than vertical power surfing ( looks after the knees ). Took out the five fin setup today and not as good BUT the surf was not good! Wil give 5 fins another go on Monday - but but but? love quads

... with the stock bonza sides?
Large ones in front or rear?
I'm going to try this in the 9'5. That looks like it is fast.
Could be a bit loose?
V interested.

The fins are stock came with longboard bonza, larger ones in forward boxes, smaller at rear, see pic inlat post, just take out large centre fin.

The quads need a slightly different approach I think. To gain speed quickly you should NOT drop straight down the face and do the big bottom turn ( prdly spin out ) - instead take off heading slightly toward where you want to go, and maintain a high line on the face if possible. Paddle using modified "J " stroke to minimise darting from side to side - what size board you on? Longer track straighter.I

Stehar,I would never question, what. Any surfer loves, and I'm stoked for you, especially taking into account your on going knee problems, however I'm curious about the drag that comes from the toe angle of the 4 bonza fins on there own? I know this design, and it's dynamic ,with extreme concave and flattish rocker, makes for a very fast design,I know you love Quads, but have you/will you try it as a single fin,so as to minimise the drag of the bonza fins,if this is about speed and flow for you.Disclaimer!I have only ridden the 8.4bonza and not the longer version and found it to go well as designed with the 5 fin bonza set up,again congratulations ,on first of all your patience and perseverance I'm looking forward to your research feed back

Going to try all setups, 1 2 3 4 and 5 fins, enjoyable! Knee op put back to mid June. After recovery surf style may be different again.
