Posting a bit of a mash up of the last Easter school hols...a mix of short board and SUP.
Make no bones about the fact that my first love is short boarding...its just been a long time since I've been able to do it the way I want to. By luck or good management I've had over six months where the knees have hung in and the short board has been getting almost as much of a run as the SUP
To be honest I cant remember a time when I have been more stoked on surfing...conditions are good for SUP...I SUP...when conditions are right or the crowd starts to thicken up I've got the bases covered with the shortboard. With my shorty being reverse engineered from the SUP I find the transition between the two almost seamless...can surf the incoming on the SUP and then chuck it in the back of the car as the tide fills..grab the shorty and straight back out there without having that awkward transition between a short and a long board...the handling characteristics are pretty similar. However, nothing is ever going to surf as exactly like a shorty as another shorty...having said that I find that when I jump back on to the SUP I surf a wave with shortboard lines etched into the front of my brain.

Crank the volume...and no I'm not angry...just mining the back catalogue.
At the end of the day its all surfing...enjoy...I sure am!!

Mr Sparx that's the way it's supposed to be. You are an inspiration to try and surf for as long as you can. Too many jerk offs SUP because they could never short board, long board or catch a real wave for most of their life (some actually now use Walden Battery operated boards. Its hilarious- very good for seriously injured surfers but some of the fat 120kg bastards on them, are worth YouTubing). Turd burglars are just that- THEY DON'T USE THEIR PADDLES IN THE WAY THEY WERE INTENDED.

It's always a pleasure to watch you do what you do in your vids, pity you were gone so long, like Dogman etc. I love so many of the the good things about Seabreeze, board talk, fun trips with mates reviews etc. but now the amount of jerk offs that are 10 day suppers, and SUP, because they can't or couldn't surf any other way is sickening. These 'loose stools' have no idea about surfing etiquette and reckon they're good surfers because they are on these fun boards that give them an unfair advantage They snake, drop in and my personal favorite surfing up where the lip is breaking in a straight line in poo stance. Lets face it, SUPs are for, Fun or for real little days if you surf. If you're the best Supper in the world you are still at best the 50,000 th best surfer in the world, Tommy C, Gerry L Dave Kalama, yourself etc. excluded. They are watermen like yourself. There are obviously a handful of guys in Australia not included in that, maybe 2 dozen.

Supping really is for middle aged guys with serious injuries, to try get fit if you're crook, for really old guys and gals who still cant give up surfing but cant stop having fun and for cruising around.

Apparently supping is now the domain of those really with lots of disposable income and generally huge egos and tiny IQ's, Hey good luck to them!! It's also great that there are still a heap that do it for love of the ocean- like you do Sparx and your mates at your secret spot in Mexico. F--k those wankers to hell that do it for ego and because they have very, very small cocks. You know no one really cares about a water sport when the Cockroaches and Banana-benders don't care if they win and get all the places. Someone up at Lancelin said to me that a SUP magazine suggested there was a Victorian that was really good!! Why isn't he on a short-board then? Probably poking the Editor of the mag in the clacker so they all make a few quid. He probably has to be a Ding, they are all the same!! Don't care which orifice it enters.

Where to start...Greeny, I shot you an email with the link to more info on the boards in the vid.
Mick...secret spot?...you bet...somewhere between "Frankstown" and Torcool. If the criteria for a spot being secret is that you can see it from out the window of the bottlo at the local IGA then yep...its a secret. Many moons ago before multiple fins, Seachange and the yuppification of coastal towns from here to Noosa the main street was classic Vicco country coastal...fibro and weatherboard shop fronts with red and green painted corri tin roofs and big verandahs that covered the footpaths to the roadway. Used to live above the newsagency in a little one room attic...the truck dropping off the Herald Sun and the Truth would wake me up every morning at 5.30 and if the surf gods were smiling when I opened my window that wave would be the first thing I'd see. Unfortunately all gone now.
Mr Seaunt...jeez that was the sort of bourbon fuelled rant I was once famous for...I near p-ssed myself.
