Seeing as I use my 14ft DW board for touring as well as downwinding - I want to find a simple way of securing a spare split paddle to the deck of the board. I'm not sure if gluing on a few anchor points and some net rigging would be the best way to keep the spare paddle secure - especially if I want to downwind and tour on choppier water.

Any bright suggestions out there or would the standard anchor points and strong string do the job? I had thought whether I could fit two anchor points up and down the front of the deck and use strong Velcro somehow to keep the paddle together.

What do you guys do?

install some plastic windsurf inserts and then use plastic pipe clips which could be screwed down. I use them to store my paddle is the van and works a treat and would also be easy to remove.

Actually - I think I now know what you mean - hoping not to have to cut into the board.

anything you stick to the board will probably do more damage in the long run, if it pulls off or you want to remove it it will most probably take a load of paint with it if its your normal type board.

He had fitted four points to a touring board and fitted an elastic set of straps. He could put gear under the set up.

Looked good to me. Maybe do a search for this post.

Yeah - I was looking for an everything solution but unless you are prepared to do a Charlieuk on your gear and do some really secure fixings then there doesn't appear to be a solution that covers all. Not to worry.
