Mac - this sup was pre-ordered 2 months ago. The coco mat 9.6 review was a longboard review and is now not happening because I cracked the shlts over how long it took to arrive - and as you know I waited so long I bought another longboard and plan on selling the nsp longboard as I no longer need it - not complicated at all.
The upshot is that I have a fantastic JP sup in the garage and a brand new nsp mal' that is going cheap.

These JP boards seem to be the flavour of the month , are they really that good. I will getting a smaller surf sup and they interest me , because owners talk about the speed they can generate. Ive allways found with my other boards i had trouble generating speed. So are they fast , and what size for a 90kg - 95kg rider?.

I brought one about a month ago, teatrea and haven't looked back, talk about generate speed, they are quick and turn on a dime - one of my friends was that impressed he ordered one that afternoon. I have a carbon JP Pro surf and came from a Coreban which I thought was the bomb, proved very wrong!

I've just gone to the 9'6x31 for all the reasons mentioned above. Fantastic board and loving it. Beaut combination of speed and progressive turn. Better yet it still paddles reasonably straight so combined with its speed makes wave catching the easiest of any board I have ever had. I weigh 88 kgs at 6'5".

I found the board at 146 litres has reasonably good stability for me without being hard work. (see my post at www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/Board-volume-for-weight/)

All the new JP Australia surfing boards have straight fins (no toe or cant) which gives them their speed. It's all explained here in this video if you have'nt seen it.

Hey RR - as you well know my last coco board which has never seen water, is up for sale still in its box !!!
AND the new JP will be getting christened at "H" on saturday morning. Its stunning mate - nice weight and got the "Y" handle which every damn sup made should have. To date this is the hottest sup I've owned and even the missus is keen to have a crack on it.
Oh yeah - It'll be the "F & L" board of the decade !!!

Hey Jen - easy to see which one of us is showing our age hey - you are going smaller and I've kinda settled into the 10ft comfort zone. The JP is waaaay different to my 10.0 nsp - not quite as fast to paddle but so much faster and more nimble on a wave and much more stable of course. (very noticable step up in performance) How good are the "Y" carry handles !!

BB that looks great!

Have been thinking about one of the JP Fusions for myself....maybe the 10'2". Seeking more glide/speed in a higher volume (I'm 100kg 6'4" standing up straight) BUT thinner-railed board.

Is that the Fusion? How's the nose and tail rocker on that?

Are those stepped rails nice and sharp?

Photos would be great! If you're bored sometime....looking forward to your further review.

Yes mate its the 10.2 fusion - lovely rocker with sufficient nose and tail lift to fit into even the tighter spots - and the step rails work very well, allowing the board to sit fairly low in the water for such high volume and theres absolutely no corkiness at all. The board really feels like a 9.6 with a 10.6 stability - great board.

Oh - for any skeptics - I paid retail for this sup and have no ties to JP or SHQ.
