Is it that they (waterman league) get paid for the rights and only let said people have it??? seems very anti development for a young sport, with alot of nay sayers from other water disciplines......Im stoked for all those going in it, Aussie or otherwise and great to see the skill and style progressing, But to me this SUWT is a joke and only for a select few, and not even for the punters, that at the end of the day, buy the product that keeps things like this going!
Always been a joke there is NO way they can say that they have the best stand up paddle surfers in the world in their comps.
They can now!
Ok who, what about Dogman, he would keep everyone on the world tour honest, if it is just a case of being able to afford to travel to the comps i'd throw in to see him strut it, and i'm a student..
I reckon the negative comments about SUP world tour are way off the mark. The guys at SUPWT tried to get a comp in Victoria this year but the deal fell over locally and is now scheduled for 2012. The Aussie riders are encouraged to enter and have been given wild cards into the various events to represent as many countries as possible. I entered the trials in California, to have a crack, but the standard at this comp was the best I have ever seen- and the young guys are taking the sport to a different level. ( living in the Uk doesnt help the SUP form)
It is always easy to sit on our lazy assess complaining and criticising - but this tour is good for the sport. Anyone who sticks their hand up and organises an event should be supported, whether it is a local event or a big event like this.
Keiran had to pull out of the trials due to un forseen work commitments, so is guaranteed a wild card event at another event to compensate. Tell me that is not looking after Aussies..
There are 6-10 riders in the contest that are another level, one of which is Keahi...the Parko of the SUP world...makes it look too easy. Looking forward to the over 45 division in a couple of years...

As an Aussie living in the UK I thought the poms complained

And yes, Dogman would rip it up, but needs to stop eating pies so he can fly - as the guys are pulling regular airs
