I have for a number of years enjoyed my 2017 Naish Kevlar Wave SUP Paddle. PRO PERFORMANCE WAVE SUP PADDLE. BLADE SIZE: 95. But I have noticed a bit of chat about the Black Project Surge. Going pro forma on the website, the Surge suited to me would be a Large blade (not XL) so I could have the 26.5 mm diameter shaft, and shaft length of 178cm with a medium100 stiffness.
It's a truckload of oxford scholars, but coincidentally I will be on Maui - home of Black Project - in a couple of weeks. Is it a sign? Would I notice a difference on the water?

Yes

Yes I've a surge and it's the best paddle I've used. I've had it over the past 12 months, the difference between it and my old paddle is chalk and cheese.
