I am with you on this. I do have one bag with two handles on top, and another with a handle on the side, which are both handy, but I wrote to a company once with handle suggestions and they just said Nup, too expensive - they clearly have not had to walk any distance with a sup in a bag..

Don't think you really need one on both sides if there is a heavy duty one in the middle?

I shall follow my derailing companion with this.....
A few months ago I got an OC1 that had been built to order.
The builder basically insisted I get a cover, and suggested a Surf Aids stretchy one for ease of use.
Got the boat delivered with the cover - it is hi vis for safety when on the car, easy to get on and off, doesn't matter if it rains on it as it will dry out, and you can put it back on with the boat (board) wet without fear of steaming it in the sun.
Prior to this I had got my F18, which at 18'4" was beyond any cover I had.
So I enquired at Surf Aids, could they make at stretchy cover?
Yes.
A few basic measurements and about 2 days later it arrived, custom made.

Easy to put on and off.


Tenuous link to this thread, similar to the SIC bags, you can use the board's handle to carry it as the cover is stretchy enough to fit your hand in.


Not as much ding protection as a more solid cover, but important sun protection, and ease of use means I'm more likely to actually put it on after a paddle.


So pleased with it, I ordered another one for the Nozza.
This one took a day to arrive.
But again, custom made.


You can use the LiftSup handle through the cover, or grip the board pretty easily.


It adds no weight to the board for lifting, and the problem of wet boards in wet covers no longer exists.


No affiliation with Surf Aids, just a happy customer.
And I better go tie Nozza on.........

Nozza, I had a sock on my Laird 10' and the vinyl nose piece seemed to have an adverse reaction to UV which discoloured the nose of the board. It's definitely what happened as it's in the exact location and pattern of the vinyl nose piece. I emailed surf aids but no reply.

I've got one of your bags Marco and the heavy duty handle in the middle is awesome! Used it to travel to Bali with extra padding and it was super easy to carry about.

I bought 2 10ft bags by honu 2 years ago and they have been great . 5 handles on the bag . Nose and tail , both sides and in the middle . Also a full paddle cover attached to one side . Full opening zip . I've discovered that if you have a long zip with 2 runners open it up where you sup handle is and slip your hand in . Easy to carry .

No, you are not fussy. If board bags have not at least 5 handles (and a plastic zipper with big teeth), they are not good quality :-)
