Hi does anyone know of any places in the Solomons where you can stand up paddle board or hire boards other than the Papaptura Island Retreat which charge like a wounded bull.

Cheers.

Just curious, what were they charging ?
I've arranged for a 11ft Nalu for 14 days in Fiji in August and they charged $500 oz. Not bad at approx $35 a day. This incl drop off and pick up at the resort.

The Resort charges $1120 for 4 nights including boat trip over there and use of non-motorised sports equipment. Still contemplating staying there but thought I would check to see if anyone knew of anything else.

Gizo is renowned for two great surf breaks, Titiana Village which is a left hander for the goofy footers and Paeloge is a barrelling right hander. Truly world class surfing during the months of November to April. Check out: http://www.coastalwatch.com/news/article.aspx?articleId=3515&display=0&cateI

titiana and paolonge are 15min boat from gizo- or i tink there is some locals accom there now- fatboys is a great hangout and you can paddle to some reef breaks from there- so many set ups that go unsurfed- you can pretty much just book flights to gizo and a boat trip from airport to town- and organise accom and boats there- just go to the yacht club and they will sort you out-

So I have solved the problem. I have ordered an inflatable stand up paddle board and am staying at both Sanbis Resort in Gizo and Papatura Resort. Thanks for you help.

Don't think I'd like to take off on any of those waves on an inflatable paddleboard :)
