Hi guys and girls. I just wanted to share my recent experience with Blue Planet and the service that I have received. I purchased a SUP from a local surf shop and when I was cleaning it with dishwashing detergent the symbol started rubbing off. I contact Blue Planet and they first of all told me that it must have been the cleaner that I'm using however I've used the same type of dishwashing detergent on all my boards for many years. Blue planet then agreed that they would work something out financially but they have stopped replying to my messages. This is extremely disappointing as the board is clearly defective and they don't want to take any ownership at all. I also received messages from someone who's connected to blue planet asking me do I want to but dishwashing detergent from him. I've kept all messages from blue planet and this guy and will post them shortly. Just be careful with this company. I thought they were a reputable and professional company but clearly they aren't.

Put a sticker on it

I've always cleaned my boards mostly just with fresh water but occasionally with about a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid and have never had an issue.

Same here, never rinsed my boards or paddles. Salt protects from mildew.
If you SUP in rivers or lakes, rinsing is a good idea however.

I only rinse my leashes from time to time: the swivels and cuffs especially.
And of course, all my neoprene gear.
But never with any detergent. Only some soap for my ear plugs.

What about metal stuff on board, like fin screws and leash thingy, don't those rust if you don't rinse?

Never had an issue. Even with surfboards for decades.
I know it can happen when factories are victim of unscrupulous providers and get cheap knock off parts.

You can rinse gently from time to time the gore tex vents, without touching it.

Ah, I forgot: I take care to remove any sand from the board before putting it in the bag, either with some water, towel or brush. A bit of sand in a bag will quickly ... sand ... a board.

Keep rubbing,get rid of the logo completely! They look sh.t all sup boards are over branded,IMO I get you are disappointed,but warranty's are mostly about construction integrity,and it's my understanding the Blue Planet boards are price point, but well built,value for money .

You could get a bit of thinners/turps on a cotton bud and carefully wipe all of the smudging black paint off around the main fish logo.

Or you could get rid of the whole logo as mentioned before.

Would it be worth checking it is a Blue Planet? There is supposed to be a finishing layer of glass over the logos. You can buy that logo as a sticker.

I agree. It just does not sound right. Maybe ask them when they started applying the logo over the final glass might be a clue.
